Artist Focus: Grade levels choose an artist, explore their work and create pieces that are inspired by that artist/work. Artwork to be up on atrium display boards by Thursday afternoon.
KIS Logo: Students design a small logo for each of the concepts: Knowledge; Inspiration; Spirit. Logos to be drawn/stuck onto large KIS letters.
KIS Rap: Classes create short raps about Knowledge, Inspiration, Spirit.

Action:

Artigras 2015 Initial Meeting: Thursday February 19

Discussion:

Theme for the week: Everyone Can Be An Artist
Class projects:

• Class project - 3D sculpture: Each grade will choose a a type of 3D sculpture to create. The sculpture should: involve all students; be large/significant in size; be moveable. A collection of ideas for the project will be shared with all staff. A (possible) conceptual focus for the project could be 'diversity'. Examples for the project can be found at Primary School/Academic Year 14-15/Events and Celebrations/3D Art Project ideas (Lilian and Karl)
• Arts/Artist exploration: Each grade chooses an artist/form of art to explore throughout the week. They then create art works that will be displayed on the display boards in the atrium by the end of the week. (Nicholas)

Overview of the week:

• Monday - House creativity activity: Students to work with other students in their house to create a sculpture. Points awarded for teams that display attributes of the LP/Attitudes. (Nicholas)
• Tuesday - Visiting performers or artists : TBC (June)
• Wednesday - Battle of the Bands: TISAC BOTB competition throughout the day. Running order will be shared and classes are invited to come along cheer the bands along. (Chris)
• Thursday - Busking: During last period fo the day, students are invited to show their talents by busking. All grades will be invited to watch the buskers and to bring small change to donate. (Glenn and Rich)
• Friday - Dress as your favorite artist day/final assembly: Students dress as their favorite artists throughout the day and do a 'walk around' the main group during the final assembly. Assembly to be held int he auditorium. (Bim, Por, Glenn)

Additional ideas:

• Resident artist visits: Tim C and students from the upper school could visit grades and share their expertise by leading hands-on sessions (Karl)
